It took place this weekend in the bay of Portmany. The CNSA's talent has claimed 6 golds, 5 silvers, and 8 bronzes.
Last Saturday, November 18, the I Balearic Sea Kayaking Cup of the 2023-2024 season was held in the waters of the Portmany bay, organized by the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni and the Balearic Canoeing Federation. The CNSA achieved a magnificent result, leading the club standings and securing a total of 19 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze).
The route, covering ten kilometers, connected the dock of the port of Sant Antoni with the islet of Cala Salada and back. It was a challenging competition due to the waves recorded during the event, coming from different directions and varying along different sections. The course for the youth paddlers was three kilometers, between the dock and the Aquarium of es Cap Blanc, returning to the starting point.
Notable was the extraordinary race by Raúl Prendes and Ilhan Velasco (SS2 Youth Men), leading the competition from start to finish, and the victory of Daniel Sánchez (SS1 Senior Men), marking his return to Es Nàutic. An impressive duel also occurred in SS1 Junior Men between Noel López and Álvaro Rubio, both from the Sant Antoni team, and there were other brilliant victories, such as those of Facundo González (Cadet Men A), Valentina Rodríguez (Cadet Women A), and Laura Rubio (Infant Women B).
The total medals won by CNSA paddlers were as follows: Raúl Prendes and Ilhan Velasco won gold in SS2 Youth Men, and silver went to Marc Boned and Tristán García Arzberger in the same category. Lázaro Noel López claimed gold in SS1 Youth Men, with silver for Álvaro Rubio. Gold for Daniel Sánchez in SS1 Senior Men, and bronze for Toni Prats. Facundo González won gold in SS1 Cadet Men A, and bronze for Roy Kikozashvili. Laura Rubio secured gold in SS1 Infant Women B, with Lara Ribas in second place. Valentina Rodríguez also took gold in SS1 Cadet Women A, followed by María Gallego (silver) and Icíar Solé (bronze). Additionally, Carla Costa earned silver in SS1 Cadet Women B, followed by Candela Madrigal (bronze). Bronze medals were also obtained by Toni Llorens (SS1 Cadet Men), Andrea Barrionuevo (SS1 Youth Women), José Luis González (Veteran 50-54), and Neus Mateu (Veteran Women 50-54).
Regarding CNSA's victory in the club standings, they amassed a total of 727 points, followed by the Real Club Náutico de Palma with 672, and Club de Mar with 348. "The individual contribution and commitment to the team from all CNSA representatives have been crucial in this club victory. It's a merit for each and every one of them," explained their coach, Eduardo Prendes.
